  2. I know Google owns blog-spot but their search engine could go on a permanent strike and I would be fine.

  3. I think it's silly to "shut down in protest". Sites and forums against this (which we all should be!) should put up a banner (annoying as possible) with links to congress and senate so folks can write and call. This only hurts us all. jmo

  4. Craigslist has done just this thing Stephen.
It has a link for every possible contact you can and should make to abolish SOPA!

The only reliable format left to us to gather news is from the net and blogs.
If they contaminate this communication venue for Americans, we will be left with nothing but propaganda and staged press releases.

There is nothing "silly" about fighting for your web based business and freedoms to have personal anonymity when visiting a site or merchant on the web!

  6. Here's what's really going on.

We already have copyright infringement laws on the books, already. Right? So what is the reason for this bill?

By the very fact of how this bill is being passed and who would have the "say-so" with having a website shut down, it becomes a form of nationalization.

Nationalization. The transfer of private resources to government control.

What's one of the more recent examples of Nationalization? Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. He recently nationalized the privately owned gold mines along with several American owned companies. They had no choice in the matter.

What the most evil form of nationalization we've seen? Nazi Germany.

Just wanted to toss this in.

    1. Matt, I agree. If I weren't so busy at the moment I'd comment further. But, then again, you've said it all. Thanks.

  9. Like my hubby says, "You want to make a statement with shutting down sites on the internet, try shutting down facebook , twitter, and all porn sites. That would get everyones attention really quick."

  10. Oh I think Wiki made an impact. Several people commented on it today that I wouldn't have thought would know anything about it. People I see daily who have never had an inkling of anything political before. Sure shutting down facebook and the others you mentioned would have hit even more people but at least an impact was felt. I applaud them for doing so.
