Not to Her Standards

We're at lunch at a local greasy spoon. I can't help myself and take my Blackberry and snap Little Bit's picture. As is her way she asked to see it.

"Papa, no."

I put on my confused face and ask, "No what, little girl?"

She sighs, "Are you going to put this on your blog?"

"Of course, don't I always put your pictures on my blog."

"Yes," She frowns and continues, "And I don't like some of them."

So she sticks out her hand. Wants to scan my photographs of her. I hand her the camera and she flicks through the files. Then, "See, Papa, not this one or that one, and I really don't like this picture."

"Honey, you're beautiful. All these pictures are fine."

Here last words on the subject were, "Papa, if you put them on your internet thing I'll kick you."

So, here are a few samples of forbidden pictures of Little Bit.

Above she's hiding her school logo. She said she was 'ugly.' Women....

Here she is the day the subject of ugly pictures took place. She looked at me (as the photo was snapped) and said, "Guess you're gonna get kicked, Papa."

Guess so.

  1. Just remember, at her age, she is twice as savvy with the internet and computers are you are.

  3. Be sneaky and wear some soccer shin guards!

I think most people don't like pictures of themselves. I like one out of 50.

  4. As the proud dad of two grown daughters, I can only say that sometimes it's easier to let them choose. Your shins will feel much better for it.

  5. Max, done.

Rev. Paul, very true, but grandfathers are different critters. We cheat.

  6. I demand you show us the bruises !

  7. I expect with the training her grandfather has done, he should have multiple fractures from the attack. If so, congratulations, she is ready. If not, she needs more martial arts classes.

  8. Matt, she hasn't seen the pictures yet, and there is a good chance she won't. Hate bruises.

Mudbug, she is well on her way. Thank you.

  9. I have to take her side. For posting the one with the napkin you deserve a good kick. I wouldn't want a pic of me like that either. :)

  10. Even with a justly overprotective grandfather hiding the school logo might not be a bad idea.

  11. PioneerPreppy, she let me know about this morning. Ouch.

Odysseus, agreed. Too many critters out there today.

Anne, I have a handicap, I don't speak new age. What does ROFL mean? Yes, she is funny...

  12. teehee - ROFL is `rolling on the floor laughing` and i agree with Anne - she is hilarious! and growing up too and probably should have some say in what pics you post - just my honest opinion. but again - tell her how beautiful and smart and funny we all think she is - in fact - set her up with a blog too so that she can take pics of you that you hate and post them all over the internet! oh yes please - get her a blog and a camera!!!!

  13. Stassja, thanks, now I know. Remember, I write this blog for her and hope one day she will appreciate these 'none authorized' photos. You're a sweetheart.
