ReplyDeleteJUGM, we used to clean our grubby cast iron by throwing into a roaring campfire. After about twenty minutes, take out and season.

Great info on the cast iron, I can only use mine on a campfire, because my ceramic top stove! er

In a bad storm, no lights, I showed my son how to make perfect homemade biscuits using a cast iron Dutch oven in the Fireplace and putting the coals on the lid to cook evenly--they were great!Love those Cat Head Biscuits, 4th generation biscuit maker here!
TeresaK, thank you. Dutch Oven cooking is an art. I make a mean peach cobbler, never tried biscuits.
