Hence the kick of the 9. Along with, as Stephen says, the light weight. There are also some revolvers good for carry, the Ruger SP101 being one of them.Erinyeshttp://californiayankee.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7507051756134115711.post-76892788838902629892012-06-06T10:13:20.605-04:002012-06-06T10:13:20.605-04:00Almost missed your comment, sorry. The tiny ones scared me because I could envision my fingers (in an emergency) curling around the tip of the barrel. SO I bought a mid-sized 9mm that I could carry.

The .357 is my choice for indoor emergencies, but too cumbersome to carry.lotta joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12742978845913126675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7507051756134115711.post-89458424414165785582012-06-03T10:33:19.459-04:002012-06-03T10:33:19.459-04:00I agree, a revolver is a less complicated means of...I agree, a revolver is a less complicated means of self-defense. The reason your nine mil has such heavy recoil is due to its very lightness...weight reduces felt recoil. These little pocket pistols and revolvers punish you with 'kick' but give convenience with a small concealable package.Stephenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09752401490789789451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7507051756134115711.post-62632761870930183062012-06-03T10:24:30.485-04:002012-06-03T10:24:30.485-04:00It was my pleasure, dear lady. I much prefer the Colt because I feel a revolver is less complicated than a semi-automatic and presents fewer possibilities of mis-fire.

But WHY does my lighter 9mm carry as much kick as the heavier .357?lotta joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12742978845913126675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7507051756134115711.post-26299404777919156192012-06-02T18:46:30.664-04:002012-06-02T18:46:30.664-04:00I just came home from the gun show (and scored a b...I just came home from the gun show (and scored a bunch of AR mags for $5 each!) to find your post. Thank you, very much thank you. Cave, the hubby, took me out to lunch after and I was thinking about you, SW and Little Bit while I ate my lowcountry shrimp.
